Poison

  1. However, despite the fact that the man who had been my captor and alterer and 'master' for these last nine years would never be heard from again... And the fact that I, as the woman he had presented publicly as his lover and protege' would now be the prime-suspect in his disappearance, he would come to know - first hand - the hell, or heaven, he had been putting me through! ..."

Dying sucks, Greene, at least in my opinion, but if it is a release to a higher plane of being, then I cannot help but feel justice would be better-served by keeping the bastard alive... And entirely removed from the power he thought he had! But, that's just my thinking on the matter.

    1. I agree with you but I think at this point in the protagonist's story they are completely finished. That man represented everything that had happened to her in the past nine years so of course he had to die. Beyond that as well, when the police investigate the matter, obviously the protagonist has a leg to stand on, having been kidnapped and operated on against their will.
Though that does give me a good idea for another story to tell :) With credit to you obviously!
